To participate in the PLTA Fashion Week 2024 fashion show, this project is dedicated to the given theme "Palais Royal." The Palais Royal, historically a chateau in Paris where the royal family used to host extravagant parties, serves as the inspiration for this interpretation. In my creative vision, I draw upon the mystique and allure of the Palais Royal, envisioning a scenario where a succubus infiltrates the royal family's inner circle, assuming the guise of a noble attendee at one of their opulent gatherings. This juxtaposition of the supernatural with the aristocratic setting infuses the collection with an intriguing tension between power and seduction.
Furthermore, within this narrative framework, the collection delves into deeper themes, intertwining the concept of the succubus with elements of religious imagery. The succubus, traditionally associated with temptation and sin, becomes a symbol of the allure of earthly desires, while the religious motifs woven throughout the designs serve to explore the complex interplay between faith and fashion. By incorporating Catholic iconography and symbolism, the collection explores the intersection of spirituality and materialism, offering a provocative commentary on the duality inherent in human nature.
Thus, the collection seeks to bridge the seemingly disparate realms of the supernatural and the divine, inviting viewers to contemplate the complex relationship between power, desire, and spirituality in the context of both historical narratives and contemporary fashion.
